"Why I love camp . . ."
Camp is awesome. There’s not really another way to describe it. I’ve been coming to camp since I was eight years old, and it really hasn’t changed. I see the same staff and campers year after year, which lends a feeling of familiarity to the week. Your cabin becomes your family; you pray, eat, sleep, laugh, and even sometimes cry together. It's also a literal family affair for me, with my dad and Nana coming as staff in my second year, and two of my siblings in the years to follow.
Camp has affected my life in so many ways, including meeting my best friend there six and a half years ago, so it’s no great surprise that we were all devastated when it was canceled for two years because of the pandemic. When we were finally able to be together again in August 2022, it was super cool to see how much everybody had grown up!
Another reason I like camp is because it’s the one week of the year where I have absolutely no cares in the world. I get to hang out with friends, sing familiar camp songs (I love ‘One Tin Soldier”), laugh over almost everything, sign camp shirts, and try to win at Predator and Prey.
A big thank you to the devoted people on the camp board for making this week every summer the best ones of my life!!!!

"For me, Camp would not be the same without GREAT FOOD, Church, Church and MORE CHURCH, Canoes, Camp Fire Songs, Songs In the Mess Hall, and Songs before Dinner, Games, Late Night Camp Fires, Vigils and Junior High Journals!
I love how I get to play, learn and eat everyday! Getting to be a kid again for one week, each year, is better than Christmas Morning!!! The games and songs, from past years, are always so much fun to revisit, but it is the new ones that we learn each year that forms our memories. The Themed Meals and the Skit Night are always Monumental! While the spontaneous adventures like Water Fights and Junior High Raids are stories that live on for years!
For me, Camp would not be the same without all the veteran campers and staff! Its these same faces that makes Church Camp feel more like a family reunion than a week of tedious tasks. The excitement that comes from camp is INFECTIOUS! It is this fun and excitement that keeps campers and staff excited to come back each year!!
Camp is more than just a week of volunteer work, it is a week of building memories, making friendships and getting to pray with our families and friends!"

"It's honestly hard to put into words...I think It's great to see people having fun, and to have some fun myself. Like Crackle said, It seems to be infectious.
The thought of me being a camper in the past makes me think about all that's changed, and how every generation of campers proves that it will never get old.
I also agree with Crackle about being a kid again; although, It's not too much of a change for me. :|"
